Black Monday, someone lost trillions on the hot playing field

On the second day of darkness, VN-Index evaporated more than 33 points and fell from 1,440 points again.

Closing the trading session on January 24, VN-Index dropped 33.18 points (2.25%) to 1,439.71 points, HNX-Index dropped 17.08 points (4.09%) to 400.76 points.

Despite the strong bottom-fishing cash flow, sellers aggressively sold stocks before the long holiday, pushing the stock market down deeply.

Many investors who caught the bottom last week were standing still when HoSE today had 114 stocks hitting the floor. However, at the end of the session, the liquidity of all 3 exchanges was just over 29 trillion dong.

The selling continued to increase when this was also the T+3 session of bottom-fished stocks from the middle of last week. The whole market recorded more than 850 losers that completely overwhelmed the number of gainers, of which there were more than 160 stocks that fell to the floor.

If in the morning, the demand from blue-chips helped the index narrow its drop, then in the afternoon, all efforts to support were hopeless. VN-Index evaporated more than 33 points and fell from 1,440 points again.

The decline spread in most of the securities industry groups. The real estate group still dyed red with many deep losers such as: VHM, NVL, THD... The manufacturing group also suffered the same situation when many stocks fell quite deeply: MSN, HPG...

VHM, HPG,... are stocks that fell deeply, taking away nearly 9 points from VN-Index.

On the other side, banking stocks were a bright spot today thanks to the gaining momentum of many codes: VCB, ACB, TCB...

The first trading session of the last week before the Lunar New Year was full of turbulence. For example, with the code MSN alone, the decrease in today's session pulled the assets of billionaire couple Ho Hung Anh and Nguyen Dang Quang together to lose more than 2,000 billion dong.

Or like billionaire Tran Dinh Long, with HPG's dizzying plunge today, this billionaire has also lost more than 3,000 billion dong.

According to many experts, the general trend is forecasted, in the last trading week before Tet holiday, investors will have less transactions, whereby liquidity may decline. The psychology of many investors is that they want to withdraw the cash flow to their accounts, only after Tet when the market reopens will they continue to count.
