After an impressive start, VN-Index was unable to maintain its gaining momentum to the next session even though it sometimes increased by nearly 10 points. Trading volume has improved significantly on both HOSE and HNX.
The short-term uptrend has been determined by VN-Index after surpassing the historical peak, in the near future the 61.8% Fibonacci Projection level (around 1,530 points) will be the next resistance area to break.
- Market indexes traded mixed in the session on January 5, 2022. Specifically, the VN-Index decreased by 0.2%, to 1,522.50 points; HNX-Index increased strongly by 1.32%, to 480.36 points.
- Matching volume on HOSE reached more than 987 million units, up 17.55% compared to the previous session. The matched volume on the HNX increased by 35.7%, reaching nearly 132 million units.
- Foreign investors were net sellers on HOSE with a value of nearly 224 billion dong, net buyers on HNX with nearly 36 billion dong.
After the exciting first trading session of 2022 and setting new historical peaks, VN-Index adjusted down slightly in the session of January 5, 2021. At the beginning of the morning session, VN-Index fluctuated around the reference level, before slowly moving above the level of 1,530 points.
Entering the lunch break, VN-Index gained nearly 10 points. However, the situation in the afternoon session was completely opposite to that of the morning session, when the market continuously narrowed the previous gaining momentum and gradually dropped all accumulated gains.
The decline of VN30 stocks group was the main factor pulling down VN-Index. At the end of the day session, VN-Index decreased slightly by 3.08 points.
VN30-Index dropped 12.86 points, with red color present on 19/30 stocks in the group. The stock with the deepest drop was MSN (HM: MSN), when its price lost more than 5% of its value. Following right behind are VJC (HM:VJC), ACB (HM:ACB), HDB (HM:HDB), TPB (HM:TPB) and PNJ (HM:PNJ), the average decrease at the end of the session fell in about 2%. In the uptrend, VRE stock (HM:VRE) led the gain with a dramatic increase to the ceiling. In addition, stocks GAS (HM:GAS), KDH (HM:KDH) and GVR (HM:GVR) also had a relatively stable increase, up about 2-3%.
In terms of influence, MSN, VHM (HM: VHM), VIC (HM: VIC) and VCB (HM: VCB) are the codes that have the most negative impact on the VN-Index. MSN alone made the market lose nearly 3 points. On the other side, GAS, VRE and DIG (HM:DIG) have the most positive impact.
